6-Day Peace Chant

6-Day Chant closing chant

Closing Chant, 121 hours of chanting and two more to go

The 6-Day Peace Chant in Vancouver this June was one of the most exciting participatory events taking place in conjunction with the World Peace Forum 2006.

This multi-faith Peace Chant offered international visitors and the people of Vancouver the opportunity to experience peace through chant. The continuous chant vigil symbolically and energetically supported the peace dialogue at the Forum.

The Continuous Chant started at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 23rd, 2006, coinciding with the Official Opening Ceremonies of the World Peace Forum, and continued without interruption until Wednesday, June 28th, 2006, at 10 p.m. 123 hours or 7,380 minutes later.

We are very grateful to our host, The Canadian Memorial Centre for Peace who generously loaned us their Great Hall and other facilities during the six days of the chant. Also, the hugest of hugs to all of the Chant Leaders, Dedicated Chanters, and everyone who showed up to participate.

More photos and videos from the event will show up on this web site in the near future.
